How to Adopt

Congratulations! You are looking to adopt and add a furry member to your family! Our adoption process is made so the animals in care go to homes they will thrive in. Below you will find our adoption process. If you have not seen our Available to Adopt animals, check them out!

Adoption Process

  • Complete an Application

The first step towards any adoption through OAAT (One at a Time) is to fill out our Adoption Application. By filling out this form, it will help us learn a bit about your lifestyle, family life and other important details that will help us find your perfect match. Your application will be reviewed and one of our team members will be in contact with you once it is approved. Please note we are a volunteer run rescue. You can expect the process to be done within 72hours but it may take longer.

You can find our Adoption Applications below.

  • Virtual Home Tour

After your Application has been reviewed, if you are accepted as a candidate to adopt, the team will contact you to go over any questions they may have and may do a virtual home tour. Right now, doing it virtually helps to keep everyone safe. Once your home tour is approved, you move onto the most exciting part!

  • Meet & Greet

All of our animals in care are in foster homes. This means that once you are approved to do a meet and greet, your next step is to set up a date with the foster to meet your potential new friend! The time in between your application approval and meet and greet varies based on the foster schedules, as they are all volunteers.

The details of where, who and when for your meet & greet will be discussed prior, between the adoption coordinator, foster and yourself.

Once it is all set up, if your meet and greet goes well, you can discuss a payment method for the adoption fee and you will be able to set up a time to come pick up your new furry family member!
